Characterization of access to the St. Lawrence River in Charlevoix (2016)

This study highlights the inventory and characterization of access to the river, as recorded during the late summer and fall of 2016. Characterized sites represent :

  • Physical access;

  • Visual access

The method adopted was to visit all the previously identified sites (map) and to take as many authorized roads in the direction of the river. The list of these sites was then submitted to the municipalities for advice, comments and additional information. In addition, a “general public” survey was proposed and disseminated via social media. This makes it possible to better understand tastes and needs in terms of access to the river.
