This project was made possible thanks to a financial contribution of $ 38,800 from the Hydro-Québec Foundation for the Environment and with the collaboration of the City of Rimouski.
During this project, boardwalks were installed on the shoreline to limit the trampling of seaside plants in the Saint-Germain Est, Pointe-à-Pouliot, and Sentier du Littoral parks. Restoration of the beaches damaged by trampling will also be carried out by plantations of American wild Lyme grass and rose bushes.
In addition, to make coastal users aware of the fragility of beaches in urban areas, awareness-raising activities will also be carried out, with particular emphasis on the role of natural beaches as a means of protection against erosion and coastal flooding.
