Scientists from Fisheries and Oceans Canada from the four Atlantic regions have developed the Atlantic Zone Monitoring Program (AZMP). This program is designed to detect, track and predict changes in the state and productivity of the marine environment. This information is essential in order to tackle major issues such as the impact of climate change or to support the ecosystem approach to ensure the sound management of the St. Lawrence ecosystem, conserving resources and protecting the marine environment for future generations.
Each year, the AZMP drafts a Science Advisory Report describing the oceanographic conditions in the Atlantic zone, pulling together information from many regional reports. The Science Advisory Report is presented here, along with all reports as they become available.
