Recruitment and Abundance of the Blue Mussel (Mytilus edulis) Along the Shore of the St. Lawrence Maritime Estuary (2003-2010)

Abundance data (biomass and density) of populations of blue mussel (Mytilus spp.) in the mid-littoral zone from 2007 to 2010. The biomass data (after drying by sponging) come from 6 quadrats (0.0225 m2) at each of 29 sites visited during the summer on the south shore of the St. Lawrence lower estuary.

Mussel recruitment data (number of recruits/collectors) on artificial Tuffy-type collectors (S.O.S. Tuffy Pad) spaced 1-100 m and exposed for 2 months (mid-July to mid-September) in the low-lying mediolittoral zone. The data represent the number of individuals per collector (8 collectors per site) associated with 29 sites in the St. Lawrence lower estuary from 2003 to 2010.
