The Les Deux Rives ZIP Committee has drawn up a wildlife habitat conservation plan for the areas of Carignan Island and Valdor Island. Located in the municipality of Champlain, this area is a major wildlife refuge since the islands are occupied by wetlands composed of different plant sequences, offering a wide variety of habitats. Although it is endowed with essential wildlife habitats, this site is nevertheless subject to pressures that are likely to compromise its ecological integrity.
This conservation plan is intended for managers and environmental actors and proposes guidelines and recommendations to ensure the sustainability and improvement of the natural resources present on Carignan Island and Valdor Island.
