Knowledge Acquisition on the Striped Bass (Morone saxatilis) Habitat in Baie des Chaleurs Area (2010)

The main aim of this study is to support the conservation and protection of the Striped Bass (Morone saxatilis). Field sampling made it possible to assess the presence or absence of spawning grounds, nursery areas, and breeding areas of striped bass in the Cascapedia River estuary in 2010. The inventory of eggs and larvae was initiated from mid-May to end in mid-July. It is carried out through the use of a conical plankton net. Juveniles were sampled using a shoreline. No eggs or larva of striped bass have been collected. No striped bass juveniles have been collected either.
