Protection and Enhancement of Baie au Chêne, Pointe-à-la-Croix (2013)

The project aims to protect and enhance the Baie au Chêne marsh in the Pointe-à-la-Croix area. The following actions have been carried out:

• cleaning bulky waste (tires, etc.) with the help of the municipality of Pointe-à-la-Croix;
• creation of a leaflet with information on the trail map, the duration of the hike, awareness-raising on special status species, and prohibited activities;
• drafting, creating and installing interpretive panels on the habitats and species of interest in the Baie au Chêne marsh, which are translated into English and Mi'gmaq;
• construction of a wooden bridge on stilts at the top of the beach;
• installation of signs prohibiting certain activities.
