Aquarium du Québec’s experimental fishery

Located in Saint-Nicolas, on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, the Aquarium du Québec’s fixed gear experimental fishery has monitored the fish communities of the fluvial estuary since 1971. The data collected represent the longest time series on freshwater fish diversity and abundance in eastern Canada. The Microsoft Access database consists of daily fish catches from mid-May until the end of October from 1975 to 2014 and annual catches only for 1971–1974. In addition, there are two series of daily catches from nearby stations: Neuville (1944–1957) and Saint-Romuald (1962). These data have been used in many scientific publications over the last several decades.For more information, please see the data context.
