Restoration and management of access to the beaches of Rimouski Bay

During this project, boardwalks were installed on the shoreline to limit the trampling of seaside plants in the Saint-Germain Est, Pointe-à-Pouliot and Sentier du Littoral parks. . This project was made possible thanks to a financial contribution of $ 38,800 from the Hydro-Québec Foundation for the Environment and with the collaboration of the City of Rimouski. Restoration of the beaches damaged by trampling will also be carried out by plantations of American wild Lyme grass and rose bushes. In addition, to sensitizing coastal users to the fragility of beaches in urban areas, awareness-raising activities will also be carried out, with particular emphasis on the role of natural beaches as a means of protection against erosion and coastal submersion.
